What Works or what can work to promote gender equality in Wales?

Project status Active

The First Minister, Carwyn Jones, has set up a rapid review of gender equality in Wales. The Centre is working to support Chwarae Teg in the initial phase of this work, which aims to identify short term actions that Welsh Government might take, and recommend a programme of work for the longer term.

Our principal role will be to undertake a review of international evidence on ‘best practice’. These findings will contribute to the overall review, which will recommend how to build a ‘roadmap for gender equality’ in the next phase of the work. Rapid review findings will be presented to Welsh Government in July and a full report of the Centre’s work on international best practice will be available in September.

Dr Alison Parken is leading this work for the Centre. If you know of examples from around the world that demonstrate good practice in reducing gender inequality, we’d be pleased to hear from you. Please contact Alison.Parken@wcpp.org.uk
