What works in supplementing the teaching of second languages

Project status Active

The aim of this project is to explore the available evidence on what works – and what may not – to supplement the class-based teaching of second languages to school-age children.

The Welsh Government’s ambitious Welsh language strategy contains a target of one million Welsh speakers by 2050. Many of these will be children who learn Welsh during the course of English-medium education.

In this study we will explore approaches, technologies and contextual factors that contribute to children’s learning of languages beyond school.
