A former University Vice-Chancellor and Professor of Social Policy, Adrian is currently Chair of the Big Lottery Fund, Wales and a Non‑Executive Director of the UK Board.
He also chairs the Welsh Government Ministerial Advisory Board on the Economy. He has held varied and numerous other advisory roles in Whitehall (for the Departments of Education; Health and Social Services; HM Treasury; Ministry of Justice) and the Welsh Government. Adrian was a Non-Executive Director of the Wales Government Board and has chaired or been a member of a number of independent commissions/enquiries.
