Josh Coles-Riley is a Research Associate at the Wales Centre for Public Policy, joining the team on secondment from the National Lottery Community Fund in July 2021.

At the National Lottery Community Fund, Josh works in the Wales Knowledge and Learning team, in a role focused on supporting evidence use in grantmaking, from the development of new funding programmes to supporting grantholders to make the best use of their insight and learning. Before this, Josh worked in the third sector, leading on a number of different knowledge mobilisation projects with an emphasis on evidence into practice in social care settings.

Josh will be coordinating the Centre’s programme of work on community connections to address loneliness and social isolation. His major research interests are in social care policy and practice, community development, coproduction, participation and deliberative democracy.
