Abdool is Executive Leader, Local Services at the National Audit Office, a role that he has held since February 2017.
Prior to this he was the Chief Executive of Swale BC for seven years and spent four years as Assistant Chief Executive of LB Merton. Abdool has also worked for the Audit Commission in a variety of roles, including Housing Inspectorate Operations Manager, Head of Comprehensive Performance Assessment Policy, and on placement as special adviser to the Cabinet Office. Prior to that he worked for ten years in London local government, at the London Borough of Ealing, specialising in homelessness and housing strategy, and the Corporation of London, where he led on performance management.
Abdool has a BSc in Political Economy from University College, London; an MSc in Development Studies from Bath University; and an MSc in Housing from the London School of Economics.
He is a member of the ESRC Strategic Advisory Network.
